2019-02-01 / High School Girls Soccer Program Reflects on 5 Year Run (The Daily Advertiser)

When Ascension Episcopal girls soccer coach Adrian Boyle talks about the “genuine footballers” who built the Lady Blue Gators’ program into what it is today, he’s not intending to disparage the girls that came before them.

Because that was back when the program was in its infancy. In fact, Ascension’s first soccer team was a co-ed squad. The second year featured only one senior on the roster.

So it took a few years for the Lady Blue Gators to add players of a certain caliber, specifically club players, to start progressing toward elite status. The 2014-2015 season, when Beverly Richard, Quinn Billeaud and Jacqueline Cloutier were eighth graders, was the start of what’s become an impressive five-year run for Ascension.
